“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my house,  we will serve the Lord.” And the people said to Joshua, “ We will serve the Lord our God and obey him.” Joshua 24:15,24

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord that you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24

And now Israel,  what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that l am giving you today for your own good. Deuteronomy 10:12-13

Fear the Lord your God, and serve him only and take your oaths in his name. Deuteronomy 6:12

Posterity will serve him, future generations will be told about the Lord. Psalms 22:30

But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart, consider what great things he has done for you. 1 Samuel 12:24
